As in the past, the General William Smallwood Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution, will sponsor the Memorial Day observances at the Veterans Memorial Park in Woodmont Triangle at the intersection of Woodmont and Norfolk Avenues, Bethesda. The ceremonies will occur on Monday, May 28, 2012, beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The Maryland State Society, C.A.R. will be participating in this event. Please join and support Katie Kraft, State President, in this observance.

Dedication of plaque on the Washington Monument, Washington Monument State Park, East of Boonsboro, MD and tour of Dahlgren Chapel. 12:30 p.m. meeting at South Mountain Inn. Luncheon offers choice of Chicken Cordon Bleu, Beef Tenderloin or Fettuccine Primavera. The menu includes green salad, coffee, iced tea and hot tea, and ice cream. Reservations are due October 8. • Clothes that can get painted on or muddy

• Tall boots (for those who would like to work right on the shore)
• Lunch (nothing nearby; we’ll provide drinks and dessert)
