The SAR Annual Conference on the American Revolution is an annual academic conference sponsored by the SAR.  Scholars from all over the United States will present papers on a topic related to the American Revolution.  The 2010 Conference is our first one, and is being co-sponsored by the Mount Vernon Ladies’ Association.  The Conference topic is 'Sons of the Father: George Washington and His Proteges.'

Ten papers will be presented.  Among these are:

2009 Atlantic Middle States Conference

The Empire State Society (New York) is hosting the Atlantic Middle States Conference this year in Rochester, August 7-8.

ESSSAR President Bill Woodworth reports that as it stands now, the conference will be held at the Radisson Hotel in Rochester. The hotel located two miles from the airport and the Hotel provides free shuttle service. Conference planners are in the process of putting together the meals, costs, tours, etc. and will be getting that information out as soon as its available. A block of 50 rooms are being reserved for Friday and Saturday nights. The Hotel will hold them at a special rate for reservations until one month prior to the conference.

The Battle of Point Pleasant, 234th Anniversary Memorial Service

 

The annual event is on Sunday, October 5, 2008 TU-ENDIE-WEI State Park, Point Pleasant, West Virginia.

This event is being hosted by the Point Pleasant Chapter, Sons of the American Revolution.  There are a whole series of events being held that weekend as a part of Battle Week. 

 

The Memorial Service to commemorate the Battle of Point Pleasant of October 10, 1774 will be conducted at 2:00pm at the Point Pleasant Tu-Endie-Wei State Park.  Guest Speaker will be Compatriot David N. Appleby, President General of the NSSAR.  Various other SAR and SAR members will be in attendance at this formal ceremony.
