MDSSAR Well represented in latest SAR Magazine (Spring 2009)
MDSSAR members should be proud, as we had a Strong showing in the most recent edition of The SAR Magazine, Spring 2009 (Vol. 103, No. 4). The SAR Magazine, is the Official Magazine of the NSSAR and is delivered quarterly. This past issue was a great issue, well out together, and had some interesting articles. In addition to the articles be great, the MDSSAR was very well represented in this issue, with MDSSAR members on several pages. According to the most recent numbers (published in this edition of The SAR Magazine, the MDSSAR is the 10th largest State society. By looking at the most recent magazine issue, you might think that we were one of the Biggest State societies.

Page 3: President General David Appleby briefly talks about his not having been able to attend the 2008 Patriots ball due to inclement weather.
Page 6: Dr. Lee C. Park (of the Nicholas Ruxton Moore Chapter) is listed on the Nominating Committee slate of Officers for 2009. Dr. Park is being nominated for Surgeon General of the NSSAR
Page 11: The picture at the top of the page shows the Merchandise Committee showing off the new NSSAR Challenge Coin, and Mr. Ed Foreman is on the right-hand side.
Page 12: In the Highlights from the Spring Leadership meeting (Trustees Meeting), the 10th point says: "Appleby recognized the vice chairman of the Minuteman Award Committee, Barrett L. McKown (MDSSAR) to give his report...."
Page 12: In the Highlights from the Spring Leadership meeting (Trustees Meeting), the 13th point says: "Announced that Ian Towler (MDSSAR) had volunteered to be webmaster. His appointment was approved."
