Visit Mount Clare for a
day of holiday programming for the whole family. Step back 250 years
and experience Mount Clare decorated in yuletide splendor to put you
in the holiday spirit! Self-guided tours of the beautifully
decorated mansion will be offered from 10 o’clock until 3 o’clock.
The Monumental City Ancient Fife and Drum Corps will perform outside
on the front steps in the morning. Inside, the a cappella group,
Singers Madrigale, will regale you throughout the afternoon with
holiday tunes of old. Baltimore’s very own Mounted Police Unit has
been invited to come to the park to perform demonstrations and spend
time with the visitors. Founded in 1888, one of the original stables
for this unit is in Carroll Park. This is the oldest continuous
mounted unit within the United States. Mount Clare’s kitchen will
host a demonstration by a costumed interpreter making Maryland’s
famous beaten biscuits.
